Venice recommended by a realtor friend. They did his granite kitchen and marble floors. GORGEOUS, craftsmanship A+. Went to the yard and was overwhelmed with so many choices. Made several trips and chose kitchen. Looked several other companies, didn't find anything I liked as much; not as many choices. Also bathroom slabs available already fabricated. Saves $$$$. Fidel installed granite kitchen. Seams are invisible. Also installed my two bathroom counters. Great job. I worked with Mazi who always returned calls, very positive, very friendly. I worked with Roxanna on bath tile and bath/kitchen floors. Prices were competitive and the choices were great. Ignacio installed my tile. Great job again. My house could be a showroom for a reasonable expense. I chose Venice because they do it all and will be responsible for the outcome. From supply, to design, to installation.
We went to Venice tile and marble on Saturday for the granite slabs. We went in to the office to let them know we were there and received a form on a clipboard and were pointed to the granite yard. After a little bit Ben came out to help us. He stayed with us off and on while we made our way through the very large granite selection. They do not list prices on the slabs but that seems to be a common practice. At the end we had our list of granites and got pricing. I think the prices are reasonable; they are certainly lower than other places I have been. There are other granite types that may be lower priced elsewhere, but they are not the "interesting" ones. Ben was very helpful; he helped us work through the total cost and the number of slabs we would need for our job. Best of all, they really worked with us on cost. We left the very happy owners of granite I never thought we would have been able to afford.
Terrible service - was snubbed. My wife and I walked in on Thursday. No prices on a single slab. Eventually a gentleman walked up, asked what we were interested in, took us to the back and showed us a slab that wasn't really what we were looking for.
He asked where we had been looking before - we said Terico - that was our first mistake. He was obviously displeased. He said he would get a form for us to use to request quotes on various slabs. We trudged back to the office with him. He disappeared behind the counter and never came back. No one else asked if we were being helped. After 5+ minutes we decided to take our business elsewhere.
This shop is for high end people that like to pay a lot for their tile. I am sure that their installer are good. I just don't have that kind of $$$$. Nice people.
I've never done any remodeling before so I was pretty nervous when I decided to redo my kitchen counters. The people at Venice were unbelievably patient with me and were very flexible. I liked working with Mazi (in sales) and Rudy (who coordinated the demolition, fabrication and installation). Everyone involved was nice and I'm very happy with the quality of all the work. I would definitely use them again.
12/09 We recently installed Ceasarstone in our home. kitchen, island, and fireplace. The island has a large single 4x10' single slab, the kitchen has backsplashes to the ceiling. The work was near perfect as we could expect. Our biggest concern for our project was high quality seams. Venice Tile and Marble nailed it. Tight seams and color matched epoxy filler make it almost undetectable unless you look really closely. We worked with Rudy (fabrication manager), Armen (accounting) and the jobsite foreman. All were professional, friendly, helpful, courteous, patient and knowledgeable. We got to watch the entire process from templating, to cutting, to installation. They have an excellent process and quality control.
We hired Venice Tile and Marble after shopping carefully surveying 5 other Bay Area suppliers:
Union Stone in Santa Clara - Lowest cost, marginal communication (my wife could speak Mandarin with the owner but I can't), reference jobsite we visited had glaring flaws (non-square corners, gaps, etc.). We told them about our disappoint, ent and they said that that project used the "B-team" and that we would get the "A-team". Ha! No thanks.
Truestone Distributing in S. San Francisco- Very good over the phone, fast quotes, great communication. Visited 3 jobsites (1 in Atherton, 2 in SF) hoping to be impressed but disappointed. Large seams, poor color matching. Too bad.
The Countertop Store of San Carlos Good communication. Highest price by 30%.
Greco Granite in Redwood City - Solid work, fast competitive quote, one man shop. Artisan. Decided not a good match for our project. Wanted a larger firm.
We visited the shops of all vendors and Venice seemed the most knowledgeable and professional. They were our last choice as we thought their pricing would be the highest having seem the huge natural stone yard. Yet they turned out to be competitive. Their material cost for Ceasarstone was initially unusually high but when I told them that the price of a slab should not exceed $1000 they verified and dropped the pricing inline with others. The labor cost, otherwise was comparable to everyone else.
The guy that helped was extremely rude and unkind. But, we stuck it out to get him to help us as much as possible which was like pulling teeth. By the time we were done with picking out the granite, giving him our measurement, he quoted us DOUBLE than what we ended up paying (for the exact same granite somewhere else). AND they don't do prepping and destroying your old counters. That means, on top of the double charge, we would have had to hire someone else to come in to remove the old counters and prep the granite for install.
Venice does indeed have a wide and fantastic selection of granite and marble, all quality material. The slabs of granite and marble are their key attraction, but they do have a joint venture across the street of pre-fabricated material for the more cost-conscious (contact the Venice office for directions), and the showroom nearby that carries tile, floor coverings, etc.
Their sales personnel are most knowledgeable and friendly. Ask for Ben; he is top-notch...friendly, professional, patient, and has a great sense of humor.
The Venice installers are reputed to be the best in the Valley and certainly do a superb job.
One would be remiss if they do not at least visit Venice to see what they carry before deciding on any granite, marble, or tile.

paid 2x for the same stone as Terico. Recommend you stick to Terico.
