Terico is awesome if you accept some simple facts.
1) Know what you are looking for, and what you are doing.
2) Read the rules outlined in black and white very carefully.
3) If they have what you are looking for, you will get an amazing deal.

I've heard it described as the "soup nazi" of tile places, but I've found the staff to be pleasant as long as you don't waste their time with stupid questions.

Very small selection of porcelain tile, but the prices are amazing.
I was hesitant to use their in-house "Gunn's Powders" thinset, but it was as awesome as the salesperson said it would be, and cost a fraction of the product I bought elsewhere.

Bring cash for small purchases ($100 minimum) or check for anything over $350.

This is not a place to go without an idea of what you want.  But if what you want is great prices on good quality stone (slabs, tile, backsplash, etc.) this is your ticket.  Might want to go multiple times over a few weeks - because stock does turn over.

Great place - we are very happy with our counter tops and travertine flooring.

Okay, so here's the deal...come here expecting to wait, get no service but get cextra heap prices for granite, travertine and marble tile. They have the best prices in San Jose. They don't accept credit cards - only checks and cash and there is a minimum.

Terico is no frills, but you will NOT get better prices anywhere. Quality is good too. They don't try to hide where the stone is from. You can read it right on the crate. Don't expect much customer service, but what I bought was less than half the price I saw it for elsewhere. I purchased slabs, tiles, marble, onyx, limestone. I won't go anywhere else, it isn't worth it.

We went driving around for days, comparing prices and taking pictures of tiles we liked. True enough, the other shops charges way way more than Terico. This place is the cheapest place ever to get tiles in San Jose. Sure, Terico lacks a fancy-showroom and smiling helpers. But, considering that this is the EXACT SAME tiles and EXACT SAME quality as those you see down the street at Otto / Bullnose, why pay more (twice or even three-times more) ??
We recommend this place 100%! The savings are tremendous and we did not regret it!

I bought some porcelain tiles for a two bathroom job. the prices cannot be beat no question.

service is hit it miss. it was fine for me so long as you are polite and not pushy I think you will be ok. I came here another day and overheard a couple complaining that the stone they received was a totally different color than the sample. the girl that worked there seemed really irritated and not helpful/remorseful at all! it sounded at least a valid complaint although they have a no return policy. they asked to speak to a manager and she replied "we don't have one!" and walked away. I was wowed and felt bad for the couple. as you can see service is hit or miss.

just like everyone has said already, limited selection, nice tiles, kick ass pricing!!!
i had fallen in love with a limestone at other stores $10ft2 starting price for 12x12". they had it here in antique, honed and polished, for $3.40 ft2 for the 18x18"!! we are saving over $2000 just on limestone alone.
also found a porcelain we liked for only $1.10, slate tile for $1.70 and granite tile $3.90. you can NOT beat this.
talked to one sales guy who was totally friendly and helpful.
bring cash or a check, and be prepared to wait 45 minutes for your tiles to be brought up front.
my contractor has seen other tile store owners picking up from so you know they have the lowest prices anywhere!

This place has a limited selection of tiles (travertine, marble, mosaic, porcelain, ceramic, limestone), but if you can find something you like, the prices are very affordable compared to other places around the same area on Junction and Rogers.  I bought limestone for my master bathroom for only $2.45/sq ft!  This tile even had the french edging.  Other places around the same area had a similar stone and edging for more about $10+/sq ft.

The really good thing about this place now is that there is no minimum IF you pay in cash.  If you pay by check, the minimum is $350.  So if you have a small tiling project, be prepared to bring cash.

This is the first place you should go to start your bathroom project.

Tiny selection of tile, REALLY good prices.  If you find what you need it won't cost much.  I picked a ceramic tile for $1.10 each 13" tiles.  Parking is tough, there's no assistance whatsoever, but you can feel free to try to rummage around to find samples.  For big projects it's worth the effort.  I bought granite tile there years ago and the prices haven't changed.   Good luck!
