This Store used to be my main grocery store, until I moved to Campbell. This place is very well kept up and the people are happy to be working for this company.
They do try to remember your name to make you feel more at home with them, and it works.
The store is clean and stocked very well and all the sale item are in many different place to have alot to choose from.
Overall you will have a positive experience with Save Mart.
I used to shop here often. However, I avoid this location as much as I possibly can. The employes are rude, management unresponsive to complaints and uncaring attitude displayed by all. Too bad they hate their jobs so much and don't even try to hide it!
First of all, let me say that I have been shopping here for a long time - before it was remodeled. I have been very happy here with the selection and nice people. Lately, I have noticed some signs of decay. I try to not be too stuffy about cleanliness but I have to vent. The deli area needs some work- maybe in-service education for the staff. I CONSIDER THIS A MANAGEMENT PROBLEM. Tell those people when to change their sanitary gloves and where they should not put them. I visited the deli counter today and watched several employees play with their hair, wipe their nose and hike up their pants - all with gloves on. They then went about their deli business without changing gloves. They pick up your deli meat with gloved hands, wipe them on their apron and work the scale then pick up more deli meat. Is there a shortage of gloves or do they get in trouble for changing gloves? Is this an education problem or an attitude problem. All I know is that I am glad my immune system is intact - food poisoning is a real probability if this is not fixed. Oh, and by the way - what is with the flies in the deli area? I have noticed them more than once lately. Kind of takes your appetite away.
When we planned our move from Sacramento to San Jose approximately four years ago, one of the first things I did was Google "supemarkets in San Jose" hoping to find a Raley's or Bel-Air market. Alas, nada! Oh sure, there's a "Whole Foods" in Campbell, but that's the closest to "acceptable" I could find. After the move, I whined to a neighbor -"Where do you shop? There are no decent supermarkets here". She looked at me with a puzzled look and said, calmly, as you would speak to a slow child, "There is a Sav-Mart right down the street". I replied skeptically, "What is a Sav-Mart?" and that was my introduction to my new-favorite supermarket". Sav-Mart is every bit the equal of Raley's/Bel-Air, and in some respects (e.g. natural foods) surpasses them. Friendly/helpful staff, excellent selection, fresh produce, cleanliness, good prices - everything one could ask for in a local supermarket and more! I couldn't be more pleased.
This location is the most friendly and helpful store I shop at. It is not as convenient as the local Safeway but definitely worth the few minutes drive. I am often asked if I need help and they will volunteer to check for something in the back. My dad uses a walker and they always ask to help us out!
This is my neighborhood American supermarket. I typically expect supermarkets in this area (ESSJ) but this location really exceeds expectations!
This location is SUPER clean, and the employees are extremely nice. I am really picky about stores having fresh meats and produce, and this place has FRESH products. I am never nervous about purchasing food here.
Check it out for yourself! The $1 Redbox DVD rentals aren't so bad either!
Clean and extremely well stocked. Three is a crowd policy is not enforced till six to eight people are in line.
I was amazed at the stock levels and size of this Save Mart in comparrison to the one I regular. I may start coming here instead even though it adds a couple of miles to my trek. Large fresh produce area, cheese area and liquor area.
There were about eight people in each of two lines before they opened up two more registers. Please. You have a three's a crowd poster everywhere. Enforce it!
One star gone for being slow to open more lines.
This is probably the only save mart I shop at not because it is in my area but the employees here are extra friendly, are always up beat, and help you within the store as well as help out to your car. I know a few people that have moved away from this area and return because the save marts near their new homes are not as friendly as this particular save mart. Prices are always low and if they do run out of sale items they will be happy to supply you with a rain check.
This Save Mart is special because it is one of the only supermarkets in the area so it has a real community feel. Us "East Highlanders" love our Save Mart and we love that the employees here are so friendly and helpful. I have never encountered a moody checker or rude employee here. I was reaching for carrots last night and I was greeted with "Hi, how are you today? Let me know if you need anything?" Even the produce guys value the customers! It, reminded me of the long gone Lunardi's that once graced Evergreen with its presence. What businesses must get through their heads is customer service is everything!!! This Save Mart has set itself apart from the pack. I look forward to grocery shopping now and am so glad this is my neighborhood store!
This one rocks and is my new spot for groceries. They have an excellent meat selection as well as deli counter. The produce is not to be missed as well. I will be back, oh yes I will be back!
