I had water damage under my tiled floor around my bathroom shower, and a termite company bid just under $15,000 to repair it. The breakdown was $9,000 to replace the shower, and $6,000 to replace the floor. I have a somewhat large yet modest bathroom and knew the estimate was reckless and irresponsible, but it was disconcerting nonetheless.

I decided to look for a general contractor, and it took two tries. I found the first one through a local bathroom showroom/store. After looking at the floor, he concluded I needed to replace the shower and the walls. The bid was for $5,000 (labor only) but the details of it made no sense to me, and after trying to clarify, I let it go.

I then found Hinkle Construction on Yelp. Mark looked at my like-new house and figured the water damage was a fairly small repair job, not a major overhaul. But the only way to know for sure was to start cutting out the rotten wood and see how far it went. I gave the okay to attack the floor, and sure enough, the damage didn't go very far.

An important factor here was Mark having the right attitude. He strongly felt (as I did) that redoing the whole tile floor would be a tremendous and unnecessary waste, and not just a waste of money but an unconscionable waste of materials. He sawed the tile out of the floor and was able to clean up and reuse key pieces.

He cut open the wall on the backside of the shower to look for damage. There was none.  Whereas others wanted to rip out the shower and replace it no questions asked, Mark cut open the back of the wall to prove that I didn't need to replace the shower.

He then fixed everything back up like new. Grand total: under $2,000. But this wasn't a simple case of being relatively low cost. It was doing what needed to be done, no holds barred, and it still ended being relatively low cost.

Still, I'd like to give fractionally less than five stars. The floor repair would have been (and could have been) perfect, except for one thing. There's a very subtle but perceptible pattern in the tile, but the tile installer apparently didn't notice it. Two tiles were installed at 90 degrees with respect to the other tiles on the floor. If you know to look for it, you can see it.

I have hired Hinkle Construction several times over the past three years.  I have been extremely satisfied with all their work.  Without question, I will continue to call on them!

Projects have included replacement shower enclosures to repair of water damage in walls and floors from substantial leaks.

Things I particularly like about Hinkle Construction include their responsiveness, reliability, and honesty.  They are also great at coordinating with tennants when we have needed work at rental property.

We had a deck replaced.  They came on time, did an excellent job for a reasonable cost, and did a thorough cleanup.  We'd certainly have them back again.

We recently purchased a house built in the 1920's and were referred to Hinkle construction for some of the projects we needed to be completed.  The projects that they did were retro-fit our foundation (which was a fairly big project), converted a closet into a laundry room, took out sliding glass doors and made into a fishished entryway and put sheleves in out bedroom closet.  All the work was done at a reasonable price, and on schedule.  The owner Mark and his employees were on time, friendly and clean workers (which has not always been the case when hiring contractors). I was completely satisfied with all the projects he completed, and would  highly recommend them.

I cant believe no has reviewed this company yet!  We have had two experiences with Hinkle construction and were wowed both times. Mark is extremely professional and thorough in his work as well as his follow through. Totally competitive with his pricing as well. Having a construction company that you totally trust is almost as important as having a car mechanic you can trust and now I have both! This is a family business and Mark treats his company like he treats his family name. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

I have hired Hinkle Construction several times over the past few years.  The two most significant projects they have done for me were a bathroom remodel that included installing a claw-foot tub after hauling it up a narrow, steep, curving stairway, and a kitchen remodel.  In both cases, their workmanship was excellent.  They started the job on time and continued working until it was completed.  They were patient with my indecision and changes and never complained.  The only additional cost above the original estimate was for additional work I requested.  They work with a network of high-quality vendors who provide the same personal and knowledgeable service.  If you are looking for the cheapest price in town, these are not the guys for you.  If you want good quality work for a fair and resonable price by skilled professionals, consider Hinkle Construction.

Hinkle Construction are true professionals, and produce beautiful finished projects.  Our kichen remodel is more beautiful than we'd hoped, mostly because of the craftsmanship and care provided by Travis Hinkle and his team. Working with each of their staff was delightful, and we will definitely utilize their services fr any future projects.  On time, within budget, clean, honest, and very diligent with every detail... these guys do it right, and cheerfully.  We recommend them -very- highly.

I have known Hinkle Construction for about 8 years.
It is a company that has dedication to customer service, quality and workmanship. They show up on time, respect you and your place clean up after each job, use quality customer approved material, always on budget and on time.
I have referred them to many of my clients and when I have called back to follow-up, they had nothing but excellent things to say about them.

If you have any remodeling project don't use anyone off of teh yellow pages or the craigslist, use Hinkle Construction. You will be satisfied.
